A metal sample coated with paint or other coatings is stretched into a concave mold by a spherical punch, and the material is stretched until the coating breaks or peels off. The depth to which the material is stretched when the coating ruptures is the quality indicator of the paint or coating material, and it is related to the tensile and adhesion performance.

This simple manual operation testing machine is particularly suitable for quality control of varnish, paint, plastic coatings, and enamel.

Erichsen200The cup convex testing machine is a desktop device with a cast iron body and a cylindrical testing head.

To conduct a cupping test, insert the sample through the opening and place it into the testing head, with the coated side facing upwards.

Rotate the handle clockwise to clamp the template.

Pull out the fixing needle from the fixed shaft sleeve and rotate the test head clockwise to start the tensile test.

When the coating ruptures, the test ends.

Depth can be directly read from the digital counter.

During the entire testing process, by observing the concave mold support part downwards, the formation of cracks in the coating can be observed.

To visually observe the cracking of the coating during the testing process more accurately, a special microscope with a battery powered illumination can be used.
